Hyon, The Changeling Statue

A long time ago Princess Celestia sealed Discord into stone. This, many ponies know. He was the first, but not the last. A statue had stood in the Changeling camp for an unknown amount of years. It was of a changeling, as the Queen had first imagined them. She had changed her mind about the size upon it suddenly turning to stone in front of her - & its rebellion against her. The other Changelings despised it, but had been instructed not to touch it at all. All the smaller Changelings knew now was that the Changeling had been able to challenge their Queen, & had, therefore was an enemy. The Queen remembered other things. Not only had the Changeling been physically strong enough to overpower the Queen given time, but it had special abilities. It could transform into other ponies, like the other Changelings, though it could only change into a male or female version of itself. It could run on clouds, despite having no wings. But most importantly of all, the Changeling was not a part of the Queen, & therefore was not controllable. Another ability, a raging version of itself which was more than capable of destroying any opponent before it, was triggered when he Queen did the unforgiveable she betrayed it. The Changeling then found the first seed of rebellion. It grew as its awareness of the wrongness of the Queen became more apparent. It challenged the Queen, killing many of the other Changelings similar to itself in a boiling rage or sending them running. Covered in wounds & the remains of it’s foes, it let out a terrifying bellow & had almost seized the Queen when a bolt of magical energy struck it, freezing it mid bellow. However the Changeling did not stop even then.

When the Changeling awoke, many years later due to a Changeling accidentally falling on the statue, it was not yet apparent. The Queen, who for some reason she could not explain, appeared before it in a way it had not seen before. She was afraid, both of what was coming & of the statue before her. She had looked about, making sure no one else was watching, before sitting down in front of the statue & wept, pleading for guidance, for help, & with a wretched sob, for the Changeling to come back. After her tirade had ended the Queen had become worn out. She stayed for a short time before promising to return at the same time, between day & night, before leaving. But when night had fallen a devasdating bellow could be heard throughout the Changeling camp. The Queen, immediately knowing what this was, rushed to the statue, to find many of her Changelings lying about in a heap, & a lot of stone dust not enough to say it was free once more, but enough to say it was moving. The Queen had immediately sent out her Changelings to find the Changeling statue, & had tracked it to an old, broken down mansion in the forest. She had sent waves of her Changelings in after it, but only three heavily wounded Changelings managed to barely escape. They told the Queen the Changeling Statue had escaped, but it left them a message; go away. This infuriated the Queen, but no matter what she did she couldn’t find it again. Until one lonely night when her forces were away in the time between day & night.

The Queen stood in front of the lake & asked the darkness where her quarry had gone, when it stepped out across the lake, glaring, eyes like hot coals. It had growled, before surprising the Queen by speaking with a muzzle not intended for it. "Leave me alone, betrayer. Or it will end like it did once before." The last of the stone fell away from the Changeling, revealing that while it looked like she did, black fur & light blue hair, similar size, it was sturdier & its eyes were a bright orange, the rage filling the whites of its eyes red. A horn grew like a scythe back from the centre of its head. But what she had not remembered was that this Changeling was male, which was unmistakeable when you heard it’s voice. He turned to leave once more. "Wait!" The Queen tried commanding him. He turned to look at her. "I am Hyon now, Queen of children. I no longer serve you." Enraged the Queen lunged towards him through the shallow lake, but was blocked by the bringer of the night, Princess Luna. An angry Luna sent the Queen away, but when she turned to deal with the other changeling, she discovered him gone.

While the Queen fled back to her territory, Hyon hid his true self, taking the form of a pair of ponies, one a male one a female, & switched between them to amuse himself, though he kept the name Hyon for them both, though reversing it for the female version. He became a lonely existence even then, & would often be found by the bittersweet melodies he/she played alone. But Hyon knows that his battle is not yet over. Despite escaping the Changeling Queen & Princess Luna, he would also have to watch out for other forces in the world. He became a pony who lived as a warrior does, & began carrying around a trio of massive swords, Lu, Cel, Een. The names & colours of each sword reminded him of the three most dangerous beings he knew of; Princess Luna (Dark blue), Princess Celestia (Pure white) & the Changeling Queen (Jet black). He became strong, but did nothing noticeable, though he/she did discover a love of fighting larger opponents. Hyon/Noyh’s last known residence was in a small house in Equestria, in the area known as Ponyville.

*Notes

(Hyon hasn’t been there for long, though the place where he lives is seemingly abandoned & he is often forgotten due to his long journeys.)

(Hyon is actually very unlikely to attack somepony without plenty of reason.)

(The first Changelings were incomplete, not only were they the same size as the Princesses or Queen, meaning they were quite tall, but many could not transform into more than a few forms, some had special abilities (such as Hyon’s extreme physical prowess), & none were capable of aging.)

(The first Changelings are still at large, though hidden, & few still serve the Changeling Queen, though not one of them know her name which is why Hyon never calls her by her name.)

(The first Changelings call themselves the Forerunner Changelings, & the newer ones Changeling Children.)

(This was based on a train of thought. I wondered if the Changeling Queen could make Changelings; couldn't she make some the same size as herself? Was she lonely being the only large Changeling? I also wondered if the elements of harmony's rainbow beam could be misfired & at all of the statues in the gardens. Possibly they were found & brought there?)
